Donate by Cheque:

To make a monetary donation by cheque, please contact us at the address below. Thank you.

Donate Securities / Mutual Funds:

You can make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer disease by donating publicly listed securities. Thanks to tax law changes in 2006, Canadians who donate appreciated securities (including stocks, bonds and mutual funds) directly to a registered charity eliminate capital gains tax on the investment. By doing this, donors can make a significant contribution in support of Alzheimer disease research.

Giving securities is simple. Consult your financial advisor to decide which investments make the most financial and philanthropic impact. With this advice, please download and complete our Securities Donation Form, then forward it by postal mail (or email) to the address below. Thank you.

Why donate to Alzheimer’s research?

Alzheimer’s disease is not an inevitable consequence of aging. It is an active malevolent disease which involves relatively simple pathology. Methods of treatment will sooner or later be found, depending largely upon how many scientists are put to work on the problem. For every thousand dollars of tax money spent on caring for victims, less than one dollar is being spent on finding a cure. Research is the key to finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, and donations are the lifeblood of research.

What will my donation be used for?

Donations made to The Pacific Alzheimer Research Foundation (PARF) are used to support world-class scientists located in qualified Canadian institutions dedicated to the eradication of dementia.

We are a non-profit organization with a mandate to direct as much as possible of our funding resources to research. Accordingly, the vast majority of donated funds end up actually funding researchers, with the balance used to administer the Foundation’s general activities.

PARF is registered as a Charitable Society under the Societies Act of British Columbia, with Revenue Canada Charitable Registration # 85798-7978-RR0001.
